From June 15 to June 25, 2010, at the invitation of Taiwan Photonics Technology & Industry Development Association, the science and technology delegation from Nanchang consisting of 21 people under the leadership of mayor went to Taiwan to carry out a wide range of exchanges on optoelectronics and photovoltaic industries and scientific and technological cooperation. The delegation participated in a series of activities in the "2011 the Twentieth Taipei International Photoelectric Week", organized the Cross-strait Optoelectronics Industry Cooperation Opportunities Seminar, visited five companies, and contacted and negotiated with two science and technology agencies and scientific and technological innovation platforms.

From June 15 to June 16, 2010, the "2011 the Twentieth Taipei International Photoelectric Week" sponsored by Photonics Technology & Industry Development Association, an association in the most professional field, took place in Taipei city. This session included the International Optoelectronic exhibition, LED lighting exhibition, Solar Photovoltaic Exhibition, Cross Strait photoelectricity exhibition, Taiwan display exhibition, LED Application International Symposium, PV industry international symposium and etc.. The exhibits cover many fields including photoelectric/compound semiconductor, flat panel display, optical communication, optical input output, optical storage, precision optics, lasers, semiconductor equipment, vacuum coating, measuring and detection, facility, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and etc. It showed the latest development trend of international optoelectronic technology and products, and is the vane of this industry and market development; it has become the grandest, most professional event with great influence in the global optoelectronics field, and has won full affirmation and high appraises from the photoelectric circle. The leading enterprises in the field of optoelectronics in Nanchang, Lattice power, LIAN photoelectric, and S.A.V LDK Company participated in the optoelectronic exhibition, which fully demonstrated the high-tech achievements in photovoltaic industry in Nanchang.
Cross Strait (Nanchang) Optoelectronic Industry Cooperation Opportunities Seminar
During the event, taking advantage of platform of the twentieth Taipei International Optoelectronic Week, Nanchang held the Cross-strait Optoelectronic Industry Cooperation Seminar in Taipei. On the afternoon of June 15, co-sponsored by the city leadership and the various units of Nanchang as well as Taiwan Photonics Technology & Industry Development Association, the Cooperation Business Seminar was convened ceremoniously in Nangang Exhibition Hall of Taipei World Trade Center. The optoelectronic enterprises from the two sides of the Taiwan Straits contacted and communicated. Light Ocean Science and Technology, Diweixi Trade and other Taiwan well-known photoelectric enterprises had expressed investment intentions on the LED application products, LED packaging projects at the Seminar. The participants at the Seminar had a heated discussion and good exchange and finally the Seminar ended with a success.
Visit enterprises and scientific and technological agencies as well as scientific and technological innovation platforms
Before the investigation, we carried out preliminary analysis on Taiwan optoelectronics and photovoltaic enterprises; the information displayed that the advantages of Taiwan’s optoelectronics industry are mainly reflected in the following aspects: it’s the hub of the global foundry, manufacturing procedures and management technology reach international advanced level; funds are abundant with better venture investment environment; "production, learning and research" cooperate closely, and the industry is advanced in an orderly way; a number of incentive policies including preferential conditions like financial assistance, low interest loans, tax reduction and exemption have been introduced to enhance companies’ competitiveness; the layout of Taiwan’s Optoelectronic Industry R & D Alliances has become complete, which help the integration of the industry’s upstream, middle and downstream.
From June 17 to June 21, 2010, our whole team visited Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd. and Sunrise Global Solar Energy Co., Ltd. . and so on. What impressed us most during the visit to Taiwan was "innovation and entrepreneurship" atmosphere, as well as the Taiwan-based businessmen’s dedication to the work; they consider the benefit of the upstream and downstream while making profit for the companies, with a conscientious and down-to-earth spirit to do business; we also deeply understood that scientific and technological innovation is the backbone of economic and social development.
